Hybrid nail polishes – long-lasting manicures for professionals and home use
Hybrid manicures are one of the most popular nail styling methods, combining the simplicity of regular polish with the durability of gel polish. Hybrid polish is applied like regular polish but cured under a UV or LED lamp—the result remains smooth, glossy, and durable for up to three weeks. Suitable for both professional nail technicians and home use without special skills.
Why choose hybrid polish?
- Long-lasting results – the color stays chip-free and peel-free for up to 3 weeks
- Intense pigmentation – usually 1–2 coats are enough for a bright, even finish
- Strengthens the nail plate – suitable for both natural and damaged nails
- Wide range of colors – from neutral everyday shades to bright and dramatic colors
- Easy to use – no special skills or additional equipment required, except for a UV or LED lamp
Hybrid polish, gel polish, builder gel – how do they differ?
Hybrid polish = gel polish. These are two names for the same product. “Gel polish” is the older, international term. “Hybrid polish” is a more precise term, emphasizing the combination of gel and regular polish properties. These names can be used interchangeably, but at Hairfree.lt we use the term hybrid polish as it is more consistent.
Nail-building gel is a completely different product. It is a thicker substance designed for nail extension, structure building, and shaping. It requires additional skills and tools. It lasts 3–4 weeks and is removed with a file or by soaking in acetone.
In short: hybrid polish – for color and shine. Nail-building gel – for shape and length.

How to perform a hybrid manicure?
Hand sanitization → nail shaping and buffing → base coat (cured under a lamp) → colored polish (1–2 coats, cured after each) → top coat (cured under a lamp) → cuticle oil.
Each layer is cured under an LED lamp (~30 sec.) or a UV lamp (~2 min.).
